Nepal is home to many National Park, wildlife reserve and conservation areas. In its effort to conserve nature and wildlife, Nepal has 10 national parks, 4 wildlife reserve and 6 conservation areas. Chitwan national park is the oldest national park in Nepal as was established in 1973 AD with an area of 932 square kilometer and is a world heritage site since 1984. First conservation area of Nepal is Annapurna conservation area covering kaski, Lamjung, manang and Mustang. Annapurna conservation area has now become one of the world famous trekking trail and attracts thousand of travelers each year. Annapurna conservation area ranges in altitude from 790 m to the peak of Annapurna I at 8,091 m. Similarly, Suklaphanta wildlife reserve is the first wildlife reserve of Nepal located at kanchanpur district with an area of 305 square kilometer.
